This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Tomintoul, distilled in 2008 and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured first in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then finished in Tawny Port barriques that Master Distiller Robert Fleming selected in Portugal.
The nose brings cooked fruits, cinnamon pastries, glace cherries, dark chocolate and clove. On the palate there is baked strawberry, stewed rhubarb and vanilla custard, with sweet nougat, candied almonds and cocoa powder. The finish is nutty and warming, with coffee cake, ripe brambles, walnuts and dark chocolate.
