Cnoc Na Moine is the third chapter in Torabhaig's Legacy Series, a single malt from the distillery on the Isle of Skye. It was matured in American oak, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks and Bourbon casks, and is bottled at 46%. The name is Gaelic for mountain of peat.
Torabhaig became operational in 2017 and is the second distillery on Skye.
The nose is intensely peaty, with sweet notes, campfire, citrus, sea breeze and caramel. On the palate come sweet fruit, soft peat smoke, dark chocolate, pepper and salinity. The finish is medium long and fairly dry, with a hint of cedar.
