Torabhaig Cnoc na Mòine is a peated single malt from the Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye. It was matured in bourbon, American oak, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks, and the sherry casks give this version a sweeter, richer flavour and a darker colour.
The name means 'hill of the peat' and refers to a place in Knoydart, visible across the Sound of Sleat from the distillery.
The nose has lightly muted peat smoke, orange peel and a hint of dying embers. The palate brings stronger barbecue notes, pepper, cedar and leather. The sherry influence stays light in the finish.
