Torabhaig Sound of Sleat is the fourth chapter in the distillery's Legacy series, a limited release for 2025 bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is another step on the way to the Skye distillery's tenth anniversary.
The whisky matured entirely in American oak, in both new and refill bourbon casks. The label, and the carton, carry artwork by Ellis O'Connor, an artist who lives on Skye.
The nose has delicate orange wood, apricot and popcorn, with seaweed, pipe tobacco, honey and vanilla. The palate pairs light peppery oak with sweet bonfire smoke, a little wax, honey, sea salt and white pepper. The finish is long and elegant, with honey and sea air.
