Sound of Sleat is the fourth chapter of the Torabhaig Legacy Series, which documents the development of the distillery's 'Smoke with Taste' house style. It is made from Concerto and Laureate barley, peated to 78+ PPM, and measures 14.5 PPM in the glass. The whisky spent roughly five to six years in American oak: 75% first-fill bourbon barrels, 20% virgin oak and 5% refill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The nose has orange, apricot, sweet popcorn, seaweed and gentle pipe-tobacco smoke. The palate brings oak spice, bonfire smoke, honey and vanilla, with sea salt and white pepper. The finish is long, honeyed and salty, with smoke.
