Sound of Sleat is chapter 4 of the Legacy Series from Torabhaig, a peated single malt bottled at a batch strength of 60.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The whisky matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and virgin American oak. The label and packaging were designed by local artist Ellis O'Connor.
The nose brings smoke, brine and sweet oak spice, with tobacco, orange barley sugar, apricot and seaweed behind the peat. The palate is big but elegant, with oak spice, bonfire embers, a waxy texture, vanilla and white pepper. The finish is long.
