Sound of Sleat is the fourth chapter of the Torabhaig Legacy Series, in which the distillery follows the development of its house style. It takes its name from the narrow strait behind the distillery that separates Skye from the mainland. Ellis O'Connor, an artist from the Sleat peninsula, designed the label artwork. The malt is peated to more than 78 ppm, and the whisky measures 14.5 ppm in the bottle. It matured for five to six years in American white oak only: 75% first-fill bourbon barrels, 20% new hogsheads and 5% refill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. The nose offers orange, apricot and sweet popcorn, with seaweed and a little pipe tobacco beside the smoke. The palate brings oak spice, sweet bonfire smoke, honey, sea salt and white pepper. The finish is long, with honey and a maritime note.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
