Torabhaig – Sound of Sleat Batch Strength (70cl, 60.2%)

Sound of Sleat is the fourth chapter of Torabhaig's Legacy Series, named after the strait behind the distillery that separates Skye from the mainland. This Batch Strength edition is bottled at 60.2%, without chill-filtration or added colour, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured for five to six years entirely in American white oak: 75% first-fill bourbon casks, 20% new toasted oak casks and 5% refill bourbon casks. It is peated, with 19 ppm of phenols in the bottled whisky. The nose is smoky, with brine, sweet oak spice, tobacco, orange sweets, apricot and seaweed. The palate has oak spice, embers and a waxy texture, with vanilla and white pepper. The finish is long, with paprika and a coastal note.
