Torabhaig – Sound of Sleat (Legacy Series #4)

Sound of Sleat is the fourth release in the Legacy Series from Torabhaig, the Isle of Skye single malt distillery. It is named after the narrow sea beside the distillery, and the label carries artwork by Skye-based artist Ellis O'Connor. The whisky is fully matured in American oak, using new casks and ex-bourbon casks. The whisky maker describes a classic ex-bourbon profile with a crisp spice edge from the new oak, as the distillery works towards a 10 year old expression. It is described as moving between citrus and spice, maritime saltiness and rich smoke like a beach bonfire in spring, with a newfound waxiness.
