Torabhaig Special Reserve is a heavily peated single malt from the 2018 vintage, distilled in August 2018 and bottled on 14 August 2023. It was matured in bourbon, oloroso, PX and virgin American oak casks.
The barley was Concerto, malted to an in-grain phenol content of 78ppm or more, and fermented with Pinnacle MG+ yeast. The residual phenol level in the bottle is 22.8ppm. It is bottled without reduction at 61.1% abv, with no chill-filtration or colouring.
