Sound of Sleat is the fourth and final release in Torabhaig's Legacy Series, a single malt from the Isle of Skye. It is named after the sea by the distillery that separates Skye from the mainland, and the label and box were designed by local artist Ellis O'Connor.
It is made from Concerto and Laureate barley with a phenol level of 78ppm, matured in ex-bourbon casks and American white oak, and bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or colouring.
The nose has fragrant pipe tobacco, orange, apricot, seaweed and potpourri over honey and vanilla. The palate brings light oak spice, sweet bonfire smoke and a waxy texture with honey, beeswax and brine. The finish is long, with brine and honey.
