This is a single cask Tormore from the Speyside, distilled on 15 June 1983 and bottled on 15 August 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection. It spent all forty years in a refill sherry puncheon, cask 8025101, which gave 675 bottles.
It is bottled at natural cask strength of 51.6%, without added colour or chill-filtering, in a 70cl bottle with a premium box.
The nose combines stewed raisins and clementine with a little marzipan, then soft clove, dark cherry and a hint of aniseed. The palate brings lively, tart raspberry, toasted almonds and lemon zest, with dark chocolate, grapefruit and charred oak. The finish is long and spicy, with red fruit and tannins.
