Tormore – 1995-2019 24 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask 5389 (70cl, 56.2%)

This is a single cask Tormore single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2019 at 24 years old by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength series. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a refill sherry puncheon, cask 5389, which gave 448 bottles at a natural cask strength of 56.2%. Tormore was one of the first distilleries built after the Second World War. The nose brings fruit cake, fresh raspberries and vanilla. On the palate are stewed fruits, butterscotch and candied peel, and the finish balances delicate oak tannins with brown sugar.
