A single cask Tormore from Speyside, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2023 at 27 years old by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. It came from first fill sherry butt 5384, which gave 584 bottles at 59.1% ABV, and it is bottled without colouring or chill filtration.
The nose opens with vanilla pod, sultanas and a little dark chocolate, alongside Seville orange zest, clove and toasted oak. On the palate, cinnamon and ginger spice sit with dark forest fruits and a hint of aniseed, then baked apple and stewed raisins. The finish is full and long, with summer berries and citrus.
