A ten-year-old Tormore from Murray McDavid's Benchmark series, distilled in 2015 and bottled in autumn 2025 at 54.1%. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour, and was filled into 499 bottles of 70cl.
The whisky spent seven years in standard hogsheads, then three years in first-fill rum barrels from Uitvlugt, a Demerara distillery in Guyana that closed in 2000.
The nose brings tropical fruit, candied citrus, sweet liquorice, grassy notes and vanilla sugar, with a hint of sugar cane and spiced rum. On the oily palate are candied pineapple, honey malt, crème brûlée and sweet oak. The long, creamy finish carries esters and aniseed, with brown sugar, banana in rum sauce and a touch of ginger.
