This is a Tormore distilled on 28 November 2016 and bottled on 10 February 2026 at nine years old. It is number 12 in Claxton's Exploration Series.
The whisky matured in a fresh Oloroso hogshead, and the tasting notes reflect it. The nose combines icing sugar, barley and sweet oak with a fine touch of sherry. On the palate the sherry is much more evident, with heavy tannins and bittersweet oak. The sweet finish ends with an unexpected note of struck matches.
