Tormore – 36 Year Old 1984/2020 Refill Bourbon Barrel Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection (70cl, 56%)

This Tormore was distilled on 24 February 1984 and matured for 36 years in a refill bourbon barrel before Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 5 October 2020 at 56%, in a 70cl bottle. It is a single cask release in the Private Collection, with 134 bottles. It is natural colour, non-chill-filtered and at cask strength. Tormore is a Speyside distillery, built in 1959 in the Cromdale Hills. The nose combines soft vanilla, ripe fruit and fine wood, with hints of dried fruit and fresh citrus. The palate is oily, with balanced sweetness and spice. The finish is long and warming, fading with fine wood notes.
