This is a 10-year-old single malt from Tormore, a Speyside distillery founded in 1958. It was matured exclusively in first-fill and refill bourbon barrels.
The bourbon casks add softness and creaminess without covering the fruity Speyside character of the distillery.
The nose is fresh, with pear, apple and citrus, then vanilla, honey and light spice. On the palate come tropical fruit, creamy vanilla and butterscotch, with soft oak and a touch of pepper. The finish is medium to long, with citrus, gentle spice and vanilla.
