Tormore – Exploration Series 9 Year Old 2016/2026 (50%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Tormore, bottled by Claxton's for its Exploration Series. It was distilled on 28 November 2016 and spent all nine years in a single fresh Oloroso hogshead. A fresh Oloroso cask has not held whisky before, so the Spanish sherry leaves its full mark. That shows in a pronounced nuttiness, ripe fruit and vanilla, and the whisky has a coppery colour in the glass. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The label carries the geographic coordinates of the distillery.
