This is a 12 year old Ardmore from the independent bottler Tri Carragh, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. It was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021, after maturing in a first-fill bourbon barrel.
The nose brings fresh, crisp oak, dry smoked sausage and toasted black peppercorns, with a hint of tropical fruit appearing over time. On the palate, subtle smoke-forward peat melds with butterscotch and crème anglaise, moving through layers of sweetness.
