This is a 27 year old Highland single malt from Tullibardine, distilled in 1989 and bottled by Maltbarn as number 55 in its Cask Bourbon Series. It was matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at 51.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fruity, with white gummi bears, aromatic peaches, vanilla custard, scented wax candle and green apple, plus a hint of kiwi and subtle floral touches. On the palate there is more fruit with some minerality, along with honey, sweet lemon, yellow grapefruit, pepper and ginger, and hints of cinchona and perhaps wasabi. The finish is rather long, gingery and zesty.
