Tullibardine – 225 Sauternes Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Cask Finish is a Highlands single malt without an age statement, first released in 2013. It is bottled at 43% and is non-chill filtered, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent 12 months finishing in a 225 litre cask that previously held Sauternes wine from Chateau Suduiraut. This gives a gold colour with a red glow and a sweet, fruity character. The nose is citrus peel and allspice with creamy vanilla, treacle, cocoa butter and black pepper. The palate opens with spice, then candied orange, Seville marmalade, dried pineapple and white chocolate. The finish is medium, with lingering sweet spice.
