Tullibardine – 225 Sauternes Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Tullibardine 225 Sauternes is a Highland single malt bottled at 43% abv in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels and then finished in 225 litre casks that previously held Sauternes from Chateau Suduiraut. The 225 in the name refers to the size of those casks, in which the whisky spends around 12 months. It has a golden colour. On the nose there are cantaloupe, lemon zest and orange marmalade alongside cocoa, honey and tropical fruit. The palate brings white chocolate, orange bitters, oak spice, black pepper, vanilla, buttercream and a little grape. Water draws out more citrus zest and sweet vanilla cream.
