Tullibardine – 228 Burgundy Finish

This is a Highland single malt from Tullibardine, part of the distillery's newer range of whiskies finished in wine casks. After its first maturation in ex-bourbon casks, it was finished in pièces that previously held red Burgundy from Chassagne-Montrachet. A pièce typically holds 228 litres, which is where the number in the name comes from. The bourbon and wine cask combination gives a creamy profile with nuts, apples, red berries and toasted oak. It is spicy and delicate, with a full influence from the wine casks.
