This is a Tullibardine single malt bottled by Murray McDavid for its Cask Craft series, at 44.5%. Tullibardine is a Perthshire distillery.
The whisky was first matured for several years in hogsheads, then given a finish of 18 to 24 months in ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximenez hogsheads.
The nose is sweet and spicy with classic sherry notes: chocolate, raisins, almonds, cinnamon and dried orange peel. The palate brings stewed fruit and cinnamon with a creamy malt note, along with milk chocolate, dates and bakery aromas. The finish is creamy and long, with cream caramel and more bakery notes.
