Tullibardine – The Murray Double Wood Edition (46%)

This is Tullibardine The Murray, a Double Wood edition from the Marquess Collection. It was distilled in 2005 at the Perthshire distillery, bottled in 2020 and bottled at 46% ABV. The whisky spent its first period of maturation in first-fill bourbon casks and was then moved to first-fill sherry casks for a second. The nose has honey sweetness over vanilla ice cream, with dark chocolate and dried figs. On the palate the sherry casks show alongside citrus fruit and peaches, with a delicate touch of oak. The finish is mild, with honey and cherry, cinnamon, espresso and fresh strawberries.
