A Jamaican rum from Hampden Estate Distillery, released as the 2021 Distillery Edition and presented as a homage to the Hampden Great House.
It blends two rums of different vintages and marques. The Great House was built in 1779 by the Stirlings, the first owners of the estate.
On the nose it is intense and powerful, with medicinal and camphor-like notes alongside ripe banana and pineapple. The palate is strong and direct, with cocoa, pineapple, herbs and pastry. The finish is long and oily, with cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa and sweet yeast-cake aromas.
