Very Olde St. Nick Ancient Cask 13 Holy Order is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, bottled by Preservation Distillery in Bardstown. It is matured in virgin oak casks.
The Very Olde St. Nick brand was founded in 1986 by Marci Palatella, and its label shows a mythical figure called Grandpa Nick. Preservation Distillery opened in 2018.
The nose brings dark cherries, caramelised brown sugar, toasted oak and vanilla, with dried apricot and aged leather. The palate is full-bodied and peppery, with dark chocolate, dried cherries and oaky spice. The finish is warm and ends in dry oak, with spiced apple pie and roasted almonds.
