Watt Whisky Campbeltown Blended Malt 2014 9 Year Old (70cl, 56.8%)

This is a Campbeltown blended malt from Watt Whisky, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2023 at nine years old. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 56.8% ABV, uncoloured and non-chill filtered, from an outturn of 272 bottles. The whisky was finished for 20 months in a Clarendon Jamaican rum barrel. Clarendon is a Jamaican distillery known for aromatic, ester-rich rum, and that influence shows clearly in the glass. The nose is sweet and funky, with green banana, plantain, vanilla and citrus. On the palate the banana and vanilla return alongside green, herbal notes, and the finish is long, with pepper, green herbs and a gentle smokiness.
