Wemyss Malts The Hive (70cl, 46%)

The Hive is a blended malt from Wemyss Malts, put together from Highland single malts chosen for their honeyed, sweet character. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The malts were aged mainly in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The whisky is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring. The nose has heather honey, fresh blossom, ripe orchard fruits and gentle vanilla, with a hint of spiced pastries. The palate is honeyed and creamy, with malt, poached pears, apple blossom and light oak spice. The finish is medium to long, with honey, soft warming spice and a gentle oak dryness.
