Westport 1995 Liquid Sun 17 Year Old (2013) (70cl, 49.7%)

This is a 17 year old blended malt from Liquid Sun, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2013 at 49.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Westport is a code name for Glenmorangie with a small amount of whisky from another distillery added, which allows it to be sold as a blended malt. It matured in a refill hogshead, and only 221 bottles were filled. The nose shows citrus, ripe pear, vanilla and light honey. The palate is fresh and fruity, with apple, peach, soft herbs and a subtle wood influence. The finish is elegant, fruit-driven and slightly dry.
