Westward x Stomping Ground Small Batch Strong Ale Finish is an American single malt whiskey made by Westward Whiskey of Portland, Oregon, in collaboration with Melbourne's Stomping Ground Brewing Co. It was released in May 2026 and is the first Westward whiskey matured in Australia.
A Strong Ale infused with coffee was brewed to season the casks, which were then shipped to Australia and filled with Westward single malt for an 18-month finish. Just three barrels went into this small batch, bottled at 50% ABV in a 375ml bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The nose offers strawberries and cream, marmalade and walnut. The palate has malt chocolate and juicy berries, and the finish brings roasted nuts and dark-roast coffee.
