WhistlePig – 10 Year Old Small Batch Rye (70cl, 50%)

This is a small batch rye whiskey from WhistlePig, matured for at least 10 years and bottled at 50% vol in a 70cl bottle. It is the original expression of the house, which was founded in 2007 with master distiller Dave Pickerell. The mash bill is made up of almost 100 per cent rye. On the nose there are orange zest, caramel and aniseed, with tobacco and smoky oak. The palate is robust, with spicy rye and toffee followed by vanilla and mint. The finish is long and spicy, with smoky oak and a little caramel.
