WhistlePig Old World is a 12 year old rye whiskey in a 70cl bottle. It spends twelve years in new American oak before the spirit is divided between three kinds of barrel.
Those barrels are Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%) and Port (7%). Once finished, the components are blended back together.
Its rich fruit and spice notes are described as suiting a meal, much as a fine wine would.
