WhistlePig 15 Year Old Estate Oak is a rye whiskey that finishes in oak from the brand's Vermont estate. The wood is sustainably harvested from a 500-acre farm and has more rings than the standard American oak used for whiskey barrels. Custom toast and char profiles are applied. It is bottled at 92 proof (46%).
The nose is deep and rich, with caramel, vanilla and oak, plus allspice and burnt orange. The palate is warm, rich and slightly creamy, with butterscotch, baking spice, leather and a hint of tobacco. The finish is very long, rich and warm.
