WhistlePig 15 Year Old is a rye whiskey made with predominantly Canadian rye and finished in toasted virgin-oak barrels. When it launched in 2016 it was the oldest release from WhistlePig.
The wood is harvested on the distillery's 500-acre farm and has more rings than the standard American oak used for whiskey barrels, which gives more flavour during maturation. Custom toast and char profiles take this further. The finish adds extra spiciness to toffee and caramel flavours.
