WhistlePig FarmStock Rye Crop No. 003 is the third annual release of the Triple Terroir Whiskey from WhistlePig in Shoreham, Vermont, and the first FarmStock with a majority of WhistlePig grain to glass whiskey. It was bottled in the barn at the farm in August 2019 at 43% ABV (86 proof), in a 750ml bottle.
The blend is 52% three year old estate rye distilled in Vermont, 31% six year old rye and 17% ten year old Alberta rye from Canada. The estate rye was grown on the farm, made with water from the farm well and aged in custom Vermont white oak barrels.
The nose is sweet, with vanilla, maraschino and roasted chestnuts. Oak, toffee and baking spices lead the palate, and the finish is warm, with rye spice and dark chocolate.
