WhistlePig The Boss Hog Edition VII 'Magellan's Atlantic' is a straight rye whiskey from a single barrel, bottled at proof, in a 75cl bottle. The Boss Hog series reflects the distillery's aim of making the finest and most interesting rye whiskey.
The nose is aromatic, with cinnamon sugar, allspice and maple, and with time toasted wood, creamy vanilla, roasted almonds and a touch of ground espresso. On the palate, cloves and brandied cherries come with baking spices, then charred oak, sage and dark chocolate. The finish is very long, with cinnamon, oak spice and a gentle warmth.
