Willett – Family Estate Single Barrel Bourbon 9 Year Old #5870 (75cl, 64.2%)

This is a nine-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Willett Distillery in Bardstown. It comes from barrel #5870 and is bottled at barrel strength, 64.2% ABV (128.4 proof), in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered and bottled by hand straight from the single cask. Willett's hand-labelled format shows the age, barrel number and exact proof. The nose combines caramel, fresh grain, bright citrus, toasted oak and vanilla. On the palate come sweet corn, brown sugar, rye pepper and baking spice, with dark fruit beginning to emerge. The finish is long and warming, with spice and lingering sweetness.
