Woodford Reserve (70cl)

Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky bourbon made by Labrot & Graham, in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill is 72% maize, 18% rye and 10% malt, which gives slightly more rye than is usual for the style. It is triple distilled in small batches and aged in oak, with the distillery's history traced back to 1812. The colour is a bright amber gold. The nose is woody, with dried fruit, a little mint and orange, and hints of cocoa, vanilla, spice and tobacco. The palate is round and soft, with citrus, cinnamon and cocoa alongside caramel and dark chocolate. The finish is long, silky and smooth.
