Wormtub 10 Year Old Single Malt Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

Wormtub 10 Year Old is a Scotch single malt finished in Oloroso sherry casks after ten years of maturation. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The name refers to worm tub condensers, the old method of cooling spirit slowly through coiled copper pipes sitting in cold water, which gives a dense, meaty texture. The sherry finish adds dark sweetness. The nose combines stewed fruits, caramel and dark chocolate with oak spice and a hint of smoke. On the palate come raisins, toffee and roasted nuts, with gentle tannin and sherry warmth. The finish is long and velvety, with dried fruit, cocoa and a touch of oak char.
