Yamazaki Kogei Collection Peated Malt Spanish Oak is a Japanese single malt from the 2024 Kimono Edition, a limited release bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made with peated malt and aged in Spanish oak casks.
The peat smoke is delicate, sitting alongside dried fruit, spice and a gentle sweetness from the oak.
The nose is creamy, with dark mocha, raisins and almonds. The palate has a deep, smooth smokiness with roasted cacao, and the long finish brings bittersweet caramelised baking spices.
