Yamazakura Asaka Peated Single Cask 19152 (63.5%)

Yamazakura Asaka Peated is a single cask Japanese single malt from Sasanokawa Shuzo, a producer founded in 1765 and based in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture. The name joins the Japanese words for mountain and cherry blossom. This bottling was matured in ex-bourbon casks. It was distilled on 18 July 2019, bottled on 28 January 2023 at a cask strength of 63.5%, and yielded 240 bottles from cask 19152. It is pale gold in colour. The nose opens with delicate peat, and the palate is creamy and dry, with hints of honey and vanilla.
