Yamazakura Single Cask Peated Asaka Peated Cask Strength is a Japanese single malt from the Sasanokawa Shuzo distillery, with 2000 bottles produced. It is made from malted barley, batch-distilled in copper stills and aged for at least three years in ex-bourbon oak.
It is bottled at cask strength, straight from the cask with no water added.
The nose opens with peat, then light honey and yellow fruit. The palate is powerful yet very soft, with pastry, honey, vanilla and wood. The finish is long, with a gentle, unobtrusive sweetness.
