Yamazakura Black Label is a Japanese blended whisky from Sasanokawa Shuzo of Koriyama, Fukushima. It is a blend of malt and grain whiskies, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and was introduced in 2015.
It has a light to medium body and a subtle smokiness. Malt chocolate and cracker flavours are also mentioned.
The nose is lactic, with grain, smoke, honey and a hint of green apple. The palate follows with lactic notes, grain, smoke, green apple, honey and a slight tingle. The finish is a lingering green apple sweetness with smoke and a touch of warmth.
