Yamazakura Pure Malt Singapore Edition (70cl, 50%)

Yamazakura Pure Malt is a Japanese whisky made as a collaboration between Sasanokawa Shuzo Distillery and Shin Group. It is aged in sherry casks from slightly peated malt. The name joins 'yama', meaning mountain, with 'sakura', the cherry tree. Sasanokawa Shuzo was founded in 1765 and received its whisky licence in 1946. This Singapore Edition is bottled at 50% ABV, with no added colour and without chill-filtration. The nose has pears, sweet caramel and cherry pie with a hint of spice. The palate shows sherry notes with creamy vanilla, nuts and smoke. The finish is lightly peated and malty, with spice and honey.
