Zuidam – Millstone 10 Years Old Oloroso Cask Single Malt (46%)

A ten year old Dutch single malt from Zuidam Distillers, matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV. The spirit begins with clear wort, a long, cool fermentation using both brewer's and distiller's yeast, and a slow distillation. The result is described as rich and complex, with an underlying fruitiness. Oloroso and dried fruit lead the nose, with hints of orange, honey, toffee and wood. Honey sweetness, raisins, chocolate and fresh orange come through on the palate, and the finish is medium and pleasant, with orange, raisins and stewed fruit.
