10th Street STR Single Malt American Whisky (75cl, 46%)

10th Street STR is an American single malt from 10th Street Distillery in San Jose, California. It is made from malted barley only, unpeated, and double distilled in copper pot stills. It is bottled without chill filtering at 46% (92 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The name refers to the casks: Shaved Toasted Recharred barrels, in which the inside of a used barrel is shaved, toasted again and lightly recharred. The whisky won double gold medals at the New York International Spirits Competition and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It is described as light golden honey in colour, with caramel, butterscotch and candied orange peel on the nose, then cherry sweetness, vanilla bean, nutmeg, clove and a roasty, espresso-like depth on the palate, and a smooth, rounded finish of candied fruit.
