1770 Glasgow – 2018 6 Years Ruby Port Finish (70cl, 55%)

A six-year-old Lowland single malt from 1770 Glasgow, bottled at a cask strength of 55% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release in a new series from the Glasgow Distillery Company, in which each bottling carries an age statement. Almost half of its maturation was spent in Ruby Port hogsheads, four of them in all, and the release is limited to 1200 bottles. The nose brings fresh strawberries and vanilla, then raspberries in milk chocolate with a touch of eucalyptus and pine. On the palate come summer fruits and dark cherries, with cream and marzipan. The finish is long, with sweet pink pepper and oak tannins.
