1792 Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

The first straight rye released under the 1792 brand, made at the Bardstown distillery better known for its bourbons. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 100 proof. Master Distiller Ross Cornelissen built it from rye grown in Canada, Europe and the northern United States. Canadian rye brings floral character, northern US rye peppery spice, and European rye bready, herbal depth. It is fermented with the brand's bourbon yeast rather than a neutral whiskey yeast, which adds a fruit-forward sweetness. The nose has warm baking spices, spiced fruit jellies and floral rye. The palate offers rye spice, cinnamon candy, molasses and pepper. The finish is long, with mulling spices, sweet oak and black pepper.
